MovementAs in the past few updates, all I can say is that he is getting stronger. I can see my belly move when he kicks, and I can believe that he could knock something off, as in the stories that people like to tell me. On Thursday he moved all day long. All day at work, and then all night at home, and until I fell asleep. I do hope that he sleeps a little more than that when he gets out. I had dinner with Holly and Melinda on Wednesday, and after we ate, I was lying on my back on the floor, and they both had a hand on my belly. He wasn't overly active, but I think that they both got to feel him move. We stayed that way, just chatting, for about 45 minutes.
SymptomsInsomnia I'm finally able to sleep again. Yay! I think that the solution was simply to stay up later. I am a night person, and forcing myself to go to bed at midnight was just not working. Now, I try to be in bed by 1:00am, and generally don't have trouble sleeping. I've had to push back the time I get to work in the morning, but that's no big deal. Skin The itching has become tolerable. My back doesn't itch anymore, and my scalp only itches a little. I got some Neutrogena shampoo that has tar(!) in it that is supposed to help, and I use that occasionally. It smells terrible, but seems to work. For a while, apparently, my bodily odors were much stronger than usual. I was hoping that my sense of smell had just gotten more acute, as sometimes happens, but when I mentioned it to Travis, he said, no, that I actually smelled more. Lovely. It has apparently dissipated, I'm glad to say. That's a symptom I can do without. At least the itching and insomnia mostly only affected me! Cravings Well, the puking episode on Christmas Day has really reduced my interest in V8 Juice, unfortunately. I can still drink it, but now it is like it was before I was pregnant... I don't really like it but I know it is good for me. It isn't very thirst quenching because it is so thick.
ExerciseI still love the treadmill. I've been going about three miles every other day or so. That takes me about an hour. My usual speed is about 3.3 miles/hour. When I run I usual go 6 miles/hour, so that's pretty slow. Brisk walk, though. It still takes much longer to work up a sweat at that rate!
NamesNew name possibility, for the more unusual end of the scale: Grayson.
