Baby!

Gifts

We will be registering at several places, I imagine, but probably not until December when I have time to spend a day in a store. Other than that, we are both very practical (well, Travis more so than me), and would love to have gifts that can be used, like clothes and whatever else it is that babies use on a regular basis (I'm sure I'll figure that out).

We would also love for you to send books! We both love to read, and will be reading to our child a lot, and encouraging him/her to read. A book that you remember from your childhood, or that particularly appeals to you, inscribed by you, would be treasured forever.

Sheryl and I recently received the following poem in the invitation to a baby shower, and we both loved it!

Although cards are nice
They're read once or twice
Maybe three or four times at best

A book is a treasure
That will give us pleasure
Forever and ever and ever

So instead of a card
To be put aside
Please give us a book
With your name inside

It will be read to the tyke
Who will learn what to like
And we will thank you
Forever and ever!
