| House: footers in, molds removed, rocks in, neighbors met |

I stopped by the house just now, and they were removing the molds from the footers. They all said 'Thanks for the cookies.' :-} I took some pictures, of course.
There were carts on the cart path behind the house. I'm a little disappointed at how well you can see them... but it is nice to look through the dead brown winter trees and see the nice green golf course, which has been green all winter.
As I was leaving, the 'Rock Chucker' truck came and started chucking rocks into our basement. I guess for the foundation. I took more pictures, and even some video. I'm a little crazy.
Then I headed to the court above ours to take pictures from up there. I met a guy named Randy who was out with his golder retriever puppy, Maggie. Xander loved her! She licked his hands and he laughed. Very cute. He's 6 months older than her.
I chatted with Randy for a while, who was very friendly. He works at AT&T. His wife works on the base. I note these things so I can remember them later. I asked him if he had any advice for building with Ryan. He said to watch carefully because they make mistakes. They are very good about fixing them, but they do make mistakes. He said they took a lot of pictures, and snuck in at night to make lists of mistakes. If they weren't resolved in a day or two, they talked to the sales manager, who made sure they got fixed. He also said that they had trouble with their basement foundation, and a few other things that were just getting fixed now (they built last December), but that Ryan had thrown in some free landscaping to make up for it. He said that they had thought about waiting to build on our lot. Heh.
Then I ran into Mohammed, who I had met before, when he was building his house. His wife is due with their first child in April. Yay, a baby just a year younger than Xander! I reintroduced myself and we chatted for a while. He said that they've been watching our house progress from their back windows. His wife asked if they were putting rocks in our basement and I asked why. She said that yesterday when they were pouring the footers that they had to pump water out. That isn't a good sign.
Anyway, our neighbors seem nice. Randy said that people aren't very social; that they are very busy. Oh well, we'll hope that he's wrong.
