House: trusses up, neighbor (52) met
The roof trusses are up! You can see the entire shape of the house now. We wanted to go take video and pictures, but apparently our framing crew works from dawn until dusk, so by the time they are gone, it is too dark for us to take any pictures of video. Just working hard, or contriving to keep us out?

I met one of our neighbors, a man named Eugene who is building on lot 52 (the house we're in a race with). He was friendly but rushed. He had an accent, but didn't say enough for me to place it. Irish? German? I'm not very good with accents, clearly. He seemed nice, in the few words we exchanged. He was jealous that we have a staircase (he still doesn't). They are building the same house that we are, but evidently did a lot of interior upgrades that we did not. We only did upgrades that we would not be able to do later, thus keeping the house reasonably priced (more or less).

We have an appointment when the building manager to go through the house on Friday, at which point we will talk about adding more windows in the basement and get answers to all the many questions that we have. Like how much the dining room wall will need to be pushed out to accommodate our stove vent, how many windows we can fit in, and whether the radon pipe is planned to go through the brick exterior wall.

Current Mood: excited
