I'm not looking for a job, but do you want to see my resume?

On July 8th, 2002, I started a job as a Software Engineer at Simulations Technologies, Inc. I really enjoy it, mostly because I like the people with whom I work, and I get to program all day long. I can't imagine anything better! Travis thinks that it is the ideal job because I get to program what he calls 'computer games'. In actuality, we develop software to simulate ground combat for the military. There has been talk of spinning it off into a game, but it is really a lot of complex AI and graphics. OK, yeah, it is very like a game.

In January, 2001, Delia Raymer and I started a company called Dryad Designs. We weren't sure, at first, what we wanted to do. We had talked about web design, and possibly software development, but eventually we settled on system administration of Linux systems. Unfortunately, due to the state of the tech industry (and mostly our unwillingness to beat the pavement for work), we decided that it wasn't the most lucrative choice. Since then, I've been working at STI, and Delia is working at Wright State.

Having the business with Delia, while not a financially rewarding venture, was extremely fun! I loved working with her three days a week, and I really miss her now that we only see each other socially, rather than 20 or 30 hours a week. I'm glad that we did it, but we are both happier (job-wise) with our current situations.
