Xander's Best Photos of 2006

Alexander

Xander turned three on April 22nd, and celebrated by attending A Day Out With Thomas at Greenfield Village in Michigan. He loves trains, particularly Thomas the Tank Engine, so to have the opportunity to actually ride a life-sized Thomas was very exciting for him. He still talks about it a lot.

Xander started preschool at Wright State's Mini-University in May. He is very good at playing with adults because we play with him all the time, but even with playgroups and classes, he wasn't getting enough experience with other children. He goes Tuesday and Thursday mornings and stays from 8:00 - 12:00. He enjoys it a lot, and Kayli enjoys having some Mom time to herself. It is so interesting to have Xander tell us things that we didn't teach him. He loves Miss Jenny and Miss Amanda, and the look on his face when they greet him with "Good morning, Mr. Xander" is just priceless.

He is a very physical boy who prefers to be outside. He loves to ride his bike, climb trees, swim, and ride his battery-powered motorcycle. He has been taking gymnastics and swimming classes that he enjoys a lot. His favorite toys this year have definitely been construction vehicles, farm equipment, and trains. He loves to have the vehicles talk to each other, and they work as a team to build parks, big buildings, and King's Island. Unfortunately the "machines" seem to have a lot of mechanical problems; they need to stop frequently to visit the "'chanic" at the garage. His new love is (are?) Legos, which is wonderful because Travis and Jen also adore Legos. They're like having a new toy every day!

Xander is extremely talkative and inquisitive. He has finally passed the constant "why?" stage, luckily, mostly because now he comes up with his own theories, which he loves to share. He plans on becoming an engineer because he likes to figure out how things work. He always offers to fix things "because I'm an engineer!"
