I lost my mucus plug on Saturday night, which made me think that labor was
imminent, even though a quick web search revealed that it could happen any time
from weeks before the birth to moments before the birth. Still, surely it meant
something! I went to bed that night, fully expecting to wake up soaked in amniotic
fluid. I had just put a waterproof mattress pad on the bed, so I sweated all
night long (I hate sleeping on those). Every time I woke up (which is frequently
at this late stage of pregnancy), I thought that my water had broken, but really
I was just damp with sweat. Yuck.
As for the details of losing the mucus plug... do you really want them? It
really was nothing spectacular (wow, really?), or even interesting.
